2024 FIA Formula One World Championship Race Calendar
Race Schedule Released
The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) has released the race schedule for the 2024 Formula One World Championship. The season will consist of 24 races, beginning with the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 3rd and concluding with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on November 24th.
New Races Added
The 2024 calendar features several new races, including the Las Vegas Grand Prix, which will be held on a street circuit in the city's downtown area. The Chinese Grand Prix, which was canceled in 2023 due to COVID-19 restrictions, will also return to the schedule.
Sprint Qualifying Races
Sprint qualifying races will be held at six races during the 2024 season. These races are shorter than the main Grand Prix races and determine the starting grid for the main event. The sprint qualifying races have been introduced to add excitement and unpredictability to the weekend format.
Circuit Changes
Several circuits on the 2024 calendar have undergone modifications. The Silverstone circuit in the United Kingdom has been reconfigured to improve overtaking opportunities, while the Circuit Paul Ricard in France has had its run-off areas expanded to enhance safety.
