Plymouth Raiders' American Swingman Puts on Impressive Performance
American Swingman Donte Nicholas 196-GF-1987 had a very impressive game in the last round for Plymouth Raiders, who beat Team Solent Kestrels (5-9) 77-67 in a BBL Cup game. Nicholas recorded a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds, shooting 3 for 7 from the field and making 15 out of 16 free throws. He also added 3 assists, 3 steals, and 6 turnovers in 34 minutes.
Nicholas, a 196-centimeter shooting guard-forward, is enjoying his second spell at Plymouth Raiders and believes the team will continue to get better.
“We’re a young team with a lot of potential,” Nicholas said. “We’re starting to gel together and play as a unit. I think we can make a run in the BBL Cup this year.”
Nicholas was born in Fresno, California, and played college basketball at Fresno Pacific University. He was named the PacWest Player of the Year in 2019 and was selected in the All-PacWest First Team twice.
After graduating from Fresno Pacific, Nicholas signed with Plymouth Raiders in 2021. He helped the team win the BBL Trophy in 2022 and was named the BBL Trophy Final MVP.
Nicholas is a versatile player who can score, rebound, and defend. He is also a good passer and has a high basketball IQ. He is a valuable asset to the Plymouth Raiders and is one of the best players in the BBL.
